Wiki Projects
So I don't know about all of you, but the whole format for the wikis is crazy. Why do we have to put 3 equal signs to get it to be a heading and all the other little things like that...lol. I think that the intentions of wikis is great and they are wonderfully helpful, but since I had never created a wiki before this class, I guess I didnt realize how much time and effort it takes to create one. I just thought you log on and click and type a little and then you can move it around how you like, but I was wrong. :) It's all good, it's a new experience for me. Did anyone find the format of the wikis different than what they thought it would be?

Nope I think that formatting is a great way for the site to stay uniform and easy to interpret!
ReplyDeleteya i didn't know so much effort went into creating wiki's? I thought you just typed where you wanted things but i didn't know it had its own little code? However i am starting to get the hang of it little by little i hope mine looks good.
ReplyDeleteI had done a bit of work on Wikipedia and various other wikis. (The Fallout wiki, for one! Heh.) There was a learning curve initially. However, I love the idea of wikis, and I like contributing, so I saw getting familiar with formatting as a responsibility.
ReplyDeletei agree to what you said about the wikis. it is kind of weird because it is different from other site formats which to think about it, wiki is its own world so i guess there can be changes and also thinking about it, wiki is used by many countries so that could be it about the format.
